Providing 24-hour emergency services, OB-GYN, maternal health and infant health services, and a regionally recognized brain injury program, we proudly offer patient-focused care to the communities we serve.\n\n We are a 30-bed medical-surgical with telemetry patients also known as 1 North. Our primary focus is medical patients with a wide variety of patients ranging from cellulitis or sepsis to substance withdrawal. Newer nurses are provided a structured environment to excel and going above and beyond for patients is the norm on the unit.\n\n Feel the pride working for Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas Medical Acute 1 North where you will provide direct patient care to medical patients within the scope of your practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning, and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Acute, you will take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under your supervision. Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.\n\n As a RN, you will provide exceptional nursing care under the scope of the following duties:\n\n\n\tProviding a variety of patient populations including pre/post-surgery, and other high acuity patients. \n\tConferring with physicians to discuss diagnoses and devise well-coordinated treatment approaches for 5 patients simultaneously.\n\tAdministering PO, IV, IM, SQ, enteral, topical, and inhalation medications. Insert and manage intravenous and enteral lines.\n\tProviding wound care, dressing changes, and ostomy care.\n\tEducating patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle management.\n\n\n This is a Part-Time (48 hours every two weeks) benefited position, working 12-hour NIGHT shifts on varied days. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.\n\n This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $2K for Part Time\n\n The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:\n\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\tInternal candidates\n\t\tRehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago\n\t\n\t\n\n\n In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:\n\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\tMust remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)\n\t\tMust remain in original department/specialty\n\t\tMust remain in original Job Title\n\t\tTransfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically\n\t\n\t\n\n Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:\n\n\n\tCurrent CA RN License\n\tCurrent American Heart Association BLS\n\tRegistered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing\n\tOne year RN experience\n\tMust be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English\n\tExcellent interpersonal skills.
